BMW's new M5 performance saloon features a plug-in hybrid system, resulting in a €60,000 price drop and improved performance.

BMW's new M5 performance saloon is powered by a plug-in hybrid system, leading to a €60,000 price drop compared to its predecessor. This model offers a combined output of 727hp, 1,000 Nm of torque, and can accelerate from 0-100kmh in just 3.5 seconds. The switch to a hybrid system has also significantly reduced petrol consumption, leading to a lower VRT and sale price. If the M5 was powered by a regular petrol engine, it would cost around €200,000. The new M5 model includes standard-fit Adaptive M suspension, integral active steering, and M xDrive.
