Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin filed a lawsuit against online retailer Temu, accusing it of illegally accessing customers' personal information and violating the Arkansas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and the Arkansas Personal Information Protection Act. Griffin described Temu as "functionally malware and spyware," designed to gain "unrestricted access to a user's phone operating system" and monetize the unauthorized collection of data.
