World Bank approves $150m to enhance primary healthcare services in Sri Lanka.

The World Bank has approved $150 million to enhance primary healthcare services in Sri Lanka, aiming to improve quality and utilization of primary medical care institutions across all districts. The project aims to address underutilization of primary healthcare facilities and overcrowding in tertiary care facilities by expanding the service package and improving quality of care in over 1,000 facilities. The financing also supports pandemic preparedness to detect and respond to future infectious disease outbreaks.
