Weight loss within 5 years reduces obesity-related cancer risk in a study of over 100,000 obese patients at the Cleveland Clinic.
New research published in the journal Diabetes suggests that maintaining a healthy weight loss can lower the risk of developing various obesity-related cancers, such as breast, kidney, ovary, liver, and pancreatic cancer. A study of over 100,000 obese patients at the Cleveland Clinic found that weight loss within a five-year span can reduce the risk of obesity-related cancers and protect people against 16 other cancers not directly linked to obesity. Researchers plan to explore if anti-obesity drugs like Wegovy and Zepbound can help reduce cancer risk.
