A University of Auckland study links parental discussions of setbacks with children's fear of mistakes.

A University of Auckland-led study in British Journal of Educational Psychology found links between how parents discuss setbacks with children and their fear of making mistakes. It analyzed 231 conversations between mothers and 8-year-olds about recent setbacks. Results showed many parents didn't acknowledge children's emotions, and some minimized them, suggesting ways to effectively discuss setbacks with kids.
