3 Texas Medical Center institutions settle $15M claim over alleged Medicare violations by heart surgeons.

Three Texas Medical Center institutions have agreed to pay $15 million in a settlement involving claims that three heart surgeons violated Medicare regulations by performing concurrent heart surgeries and improperly delegating duties to unqualified medical residents. The institutions involved are Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center, Baylor College of Medicine, and Surgical Associates of Texas P.A. The FBI is currently investigating the allegations.
