Stellantis threatens production halt in UK over unsustainable electric-vehicle sales targets.

Stellantis, the parent company of Vauxhall, Peugeot, and Citroën, is threatening to halt production in the UK if the government does not ease electric-vehicle sales targets. The company invested £100m ($127m) to turn its Ellesmere Port plant into an electric-only facility last year. Maria Grazia Davino, the company's UK managing director, said that the current zero-emissions vehicle sales targets are unsustainable and that they may have no choice but to close the UK plants if demand for electric vehicles does not increase and further incentives are not provided.
