RBI appoints Arun Kumar Singh as additional director at Bandhan Bank ahead of CEO Chandra Shekhar Ghosh's retirement.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Arun Kumar Singh, a former Chief General Manager of RBI, as an additional director on Bandhan Bank's board for a one-year term from June 24, 2024. This appointment comes ahead of the retirement of Bandhan Bank's founder and CEO, Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, on July 9. RBI invoked its powers under Section 36AB of the Banking Regulation Act to make the appointment, aiming to assist in a smooth transition and support board oversight.
