Quebec's chief coroner, Dave Kimpton, initiated an inquest into the death of quadriplegic man Normand Meunier, 66, who received medical assistance in dying (MAID) due to severe bedsores during a hospital stay. Meunier's partner claims he was not provided with a special mattress to prevent pressure sores, despite her request. Both Quebec Public Security Minister François Bonnardel and Health Minister Christian Dubé have called for inquiries into Meunier's death.
