Morrisons reports a 4.1% increase in group like-for-like sales, driven by its Aldi and Lidl Price Match scheme, while reducing debt from £6.2bn to £4bn.
UK supermarket chain Morrisons reports a 4.1% increase in group like-for-like sales, excluding fuel and VAT, for the three months to April 28, driven by its Aldi and Lidl Price Match scheme launched in Feb. The company aims to increase the number of its convenience stores, Morrisons Daily, from over 1,600 to 2,000 by 2025. Debt has been reduced from £6.2bn to £4bn, partly due to selling its petrol stations for £2.5bn.
