Kinkajou found at Yakima, Washington rest stop, origin unknown.
A kinkajou, a nocturnal, Central and South American mammal related to raccoons, was found at a rest stop in Yakima, Washington. Native to tropical rainforests, the kinkajou, known as the "honey bear", is rarely seen by humans due to its nocturnal habits. The Washington State Department of Transportation is unsure if the animal was left at the rest stop or if it escaped.
