The Irish Court of Appeal has allowed siblings to remain in Ireland with their mother, rather than being returned to their home country, where their father resides. The mother has twice abducted the children, but the eldest child objects to returning to the home country, associating it with "deep unhappiness and isolation". The children's living situation will be reconsidered as part of a full custody and welfare assessment by a court in the other EU country.
