India launches 'STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024' to end child deaths from diarrhoea and reduce childhood mortality.

India's Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched the national 'STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024' on June 24, aiming to end child deaths from diarrhoea. The campaign, lasting two months, includes intensified activities such as advocacy and awareness campaigns, service delivery for diarrhoea case management, and promoting hygiene and sanitation awareness. Diarrhoea remains a significant threat to under-five children in India, with around 50,000 children dying from it annually. The campaign aims to reduce childhood mortality to 23 per 1,000 live births by 2025.
