Experts recommend mineral UV-blocking ingredients like oxide and titanium dioxide, and avoid nanoparticles, nano-sized zinc or titanium, and microplastics. Hawaii, Palau, Bonaire, and Aruba have banned oxybenzone and octinoxate sunscreens.
