The European Central Bank (ECB) plans to set emission reduction targets for its corporate bond portfolio, and could sell assets if it fails to meet these targets. The ECB holds about €350bn worth of corporate debt, and has been pushing companies to become greener. Interim emission reduction targets will be set for the corporate portfolios in the ECB's asset and pandemic emergency purchase programs.
