China approves Novo Nordisk's Wegovy weight loss drug for long-term weight management.

Novo Nordisk's Wegovy weight loss drug has been approved in China for long-term weight management. China's National Medical Products Administration approved the weekly injectable drug for people who are overweight or obese. The market for weight loss drugs is significant in China, where more than half of the population are overweight or obese. Novo Nordisk's diabetes drug Ozempic received approval in China in April 2021.
