BMW trials hydrogen technology in Australia, considering FCEV production by end of decade.

BMW is considering whether to produce hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) as it trials its hydrogen technology in Australia. A decision on the future of the hydrogen project is expected later this year. The German automaker is currently touring its iX5 hydrogen development car globally, with the aim of putting a production FCEV to market by the end of the decade. BMW believes commercial vehicles can help pave the way for hydrogen's role in the zero-emission automotive future.
