Uralla Shire Council proposes to ban Tom Turkeys and Peacocks from urban areas due to their noisy nature. The draft keeping of animals policy, on public exhibition until June 30, follows Armidale Regional Council's similar policy. Tom turkeys are placed in a similar context to roosters, which are already banned. The policy will be adopted if no submissions are received during the exhibition period.
