The Philippine government's infrastructure spending surged 36.2% in April to P118.9 billion, attributed to projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways, such as road repairs, bridge construction, and flood control. Infrastructure spending for the first four months of the year increased by 18.2% to P335.7 billion year-on-year. The government plans to invest 5-6% of GDP on infrastructure annually until 2028.
