NTA increases Iarnród Eireann Intercity fares by 4% from June 24th, first rise in over five years.

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has implemented fare increases on public transport in Ireland, including a 4% rise in Iarnród Eireann Intercity fares effective from June 24th. This marks the first increase on any Intercity route in over five years. Tickets purchased online at www.irishrail.ie or using a TFI Leap card offer the best value in fares, with half-price fares for young adults aged 19-25 years with a valid TFI Young Adult Leap Card and students aged 26 years and above with a valid Student Leap Card. The NTA aims to address fare system anomalies, make fares more equitable, and improve their understandability.
