The bridge, which connected Riverside and North Sioux City, failed around 10:40 pm, after days of rain. The bridge is owned by the BNSF railroad and the area experienced record-shattering depths in the Big Sioux River, with 44.98 feet on Sunday night, surpassing the previous record set in 2014.
