Newcastle's Hunter Street Mall commences a $6m revitalization project, transforming the area into a traditional high street and attractive destination for locals and visitors. The East End Stage One Streetscape Masterplan, shaped by community consultation, will see the extension of a two-way cycleway, new paving, roadway, and footpaths, followed by new street lighting, upgraded furniture, and fresh landscaping. The project supports over $1bn in private investment and aims to create hundreds of new homes.
