New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries is investing in an integrated pest management approach to protect its maize and sweetcorn industries from fall armyworm, an invasive pest believed to have arrived from Australia. The Ministry, along with industry partners, is developing surveillance networks, management, and mitigation strategies to reduce production losses and enhance resilience against the pest. Eradication has been ruled out.
