New Zealand High Court denies Jehovah's Witnesses early access to their church's section in the Abuse in Care Inquiry's final report.
New Zealand High Court dismissed Jehovah's Witnesses' bid for an advance copy of their church's section in the Abuse in Care Inquiry's final report. The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Australasia sought access before victims and the government, but the claim was dismissed, and they failed to access underlying documents. The Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religious group taking legal action against the inquiry, which is due to be submitted to the Governor-General and tabled in Parliament.
