A new wildfire, the Long Bend Fire, broke out on the west side of the Deschutes River, about 4 miles southwest of Maupin, Oregon, and grew to an estimated 675 acres by Sunday afternoon, prompting evacuations of two campgrounds and issuing a Level 1 "Be Ready" pre-evacuation notice for the area. Firefighters are battling the blaze with multiple helicopters and tankers, while the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
