Kerala Assembly unanimously passed a resolution on June 24 to change state's name from 'Kerala' to 'Keralam'. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's proposal received support from both treasury and opposition benches. The resolution will be sent to the Centre for approval, following Article 3 of the Constitution. A similar resolution was proposed last year but failed due to a technical objection.
