72% of pharmacists in Ireland dispense unlicensed medicines one to 10 times daily due to shortages, according to a survey by Azure Pharmaceuticals. 98% of pharmacists dispense unlicensed drugs every day, with 43% dispensing them one to five times, 29% six to 10 times, 18% 11 to 20 times, and 8% over 20 times. The Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) reports over 270 medium- to high-level medicine shortages.
