Human remains found in Smyth County linked to missing man Eric Pennington; investigation pending medical examiner's report.
Human remains found in Smyth County on June 22nd during a search for missing man Eric Pennington are believed to be his. The remains and some clothes were sent to Roanoke's Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification. The investigation continues pending the medical examiner's report. Pennington had health challenges and was last seen in Skulls Gap on June 9th.
