The FCT High Court has discharged Senator Benson Konbowei (PDP-Bayelsa Central), who faced charges of certificate forgery. Konbowei was accused of forging an NYSC exemption certificate. The court's decision follows a withdrawal of the prosecution by the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, who issued a fiat to the prosecuting lawyer, Reuben Egwuaba, to discontinue the case.
