Asian Development Bank approves $56M loan and grant for Kyrgyzstan's wastewater management and sustainable tourism in Issyk-Kul region.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $56 million loan and grant for Kyrgyzstan to improve wastewater management and promote sustainable tourism in the Issyk-Kul region. The funding comprises a $25 million concessional loan and a $31 million Asian Development Fund (ADF) grant. The ADB's project will upgrade the wastewater facility, improve tourism infrastructure in Cholpon-Ata, build a new wastewater treatment plant, pumping stations, and a museum, and develop a climate-resilient tourism master plan for Cholpon-Ata.
