80-year-old man critically injured by gas explosion in Swieqi garage; under investigation.
80-year-old man critically injured by a gas explosion suspected to be caused by a leak in a Swieqi garage; the incident took place on Triq il-Qantar on Sunday morning at 7am. The man sustained burn injuries and was treated at Mater Dei Hospital. Police and Civil Protection Department attended the scene and are currently investigating the cause. Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici leads an inquiry into the explosion.
