West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee criticizes PM Modi for excluding her from water-sharing talks with Bangladesh.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is upset with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not involving her in water-sharing talks with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In 2013, Banerjee opposed the Teesta river water-sharing deal between India and Bangladesh, as the Centre had not included the West Bengal government in the discussion. The 1996 Ganga Water Sharing Treaty is set to be renewed without consulting West Bengal, leading to criticism from the ruling Trinamool Congress in the state.
