Kannaujiya has been posted as a constable in PAC Gorakhpur battalion. In 2021, he requested leave for family reasons but instead checked into a hotel with the female constable and turned off his phones. His wife alerted the Unnao SP, who traced his mobile activity to the hotel and found the duo.
