Spain launches tick monitoring project due to rising cases of Lyme and CCHF diseases.
Spain has launched a project to monitor ticks after a rise in cases of two serious diseases transmitted by these blood-sucking mites. Spanish authorities have added ticks to their National Plan for Surveillance and Control of Vector-borne Diseases due to concerns of increasing cases. Lyme disease and Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) are the two most serious diseases to be monitored in the study.
