Nepal's anti-corruption body, CIAA, has filed a corruption case against Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal and 11 others, including high-ranking officials from Revenue and Customs, over alleged misappropriation of NRs 386.7 million (US$3.5 million) in the printing of excise duty stickers. This is the first-ever corruption case against a sitting chief secretary in Nepal's history. Aryal has been automatically suspended following the charges.
