EFCC arrested two ex-Union Bank employees in Benue State for allegedly stealing N4.2M from a deceased customer's account.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested two former employees of Union Bank in Makurdi, Benue State, for allegedly stealing N4,199,500 from a deceased customer's account. The suspects, Idah Ogoh and Agbo Okwute, were apprehended on June 21, 2024, after a petition by Union Bank detailed fraudulent activities linked to the account of the late Emmanuel Azer Agenna. The family of the deceased discovered discrepancies in the balance provided by the bank for probate processing, leading to a complaint about unauthorized debits.
