Danish pharmaceutical firm Novo Nordisk cancels Dublin plant plan, reallocates job creation to Athlone facility.

Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk has scrapped plans to build a plant in west Dublin that could have created up to 1,100 jobs. The company confirmed it will withdraw its planning application and not complete the acquisition of the land at the Grange Castle business park in Clondalkin. However, Novo Nordisk will expand and create further jobs at its Athlone facility, where it currently employs 400 people.
