25% of British Columbian renters spend over half of their income on rent, according to a new Royal LePage report, with available rental properties remaining "ultra low" in most major Canadian markets. The report includes data for each province and the whole of Canada. In comparison, 39% of Alberta renters spend 30% of their income on housing, and 35% of Ontario renters spend 30% on rent.
