Bangladesh's Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated an investigation into allegations of corruption and illicit wealth against Matiur Rahman, an NBR official, after his son's extravagant purchase of a sacrificial goat raised questions about his income. Rahman, previously the president of NBR's Customs, Excise and VAT Appellate Tribunal, has been transferred to the Internal Resources Division of the Finance Ministry. The ACC has formed a three-member investigation team to probe the matter.
