Palmetto pastor, Jonathan Edward Elwing, 43, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession of child pornography. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office discovered four sexually explicit images of children on his cell phone after receiving a tip that he had used cryptocurrency to purchase child sexual abuse material. Elwing resigned from his position as pastor of Palm View Baptist Church before his arrest.
