Punjab plans to amend a 116-year-old law to facilitate overseas Pakistanis to buy and sell property without legal complications. The proposed amendment to Section 31 of the Registration Act 1908 will enable expats to submit their statement for sale deed at their respective embassy, saving them time and travel expenses. Currently, overseas Pakistanis need to register their power of attorney at embassies and send it to Pakistan for property transactions.
