The Nigerian Mining Geosciences Society (NMGS) urges the Federal Government to provide adequate funding and staffing for mines offices to effectively monitor and control illegal mining activities. This would help prevent negative impacts on the economy and environment. The NMGS also recommends separate salary scales for mining inspectorate units and logistics vehicles for remote areas.
