Iran's Supreme Court has overturned the death sentence of rapper Toomaj Salehi, who was convicted in relation to the country's 2022-23 unrest. Salehi's lawyer, Amir Raisian, announced the decision on social media, stating that the case will now be referred to another branch for consideration. Salehi's music supported protests sparked by the death in police custody of Mahsa Amini, a young Kurdish Iranian woman arrested for allegedly wearing an "improper" hijab.
