El Paso appoints Dr. Vinny Taneja as new Director of Public Health, effective August.

El Paso appoints Dr. Vinny Taneja, with 20+ years of public health experience, as new director of the Department of Public Health. He previously served as Health Director of Tarrant County Public Health, receiving a Large Local Health Department of the Year award from NACCHO in 2017. Taneja takes over in August, succeeding interim director Dr. Hector Ocaranza, who will continue as city-county health authority.
