3 adults were displaced after a house fire in west Charlotte early Saturday morning on Effingham Road. The fire, controlled in 9 minutes by 30 firefighters, is believed to have started due to discarded smoking materials. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents, who suffered an estimated $15,000 in property and content losses. One person was evaluated by MEDIC but no other injuries were reported.
