Loftus recruited sex workers, arranged meetings with clients, and advertised on escort websites. High cash transactions in his bank account aroused suspicions despite him being on state benefits. Loftus promised workers up to £1,500 weekly earnings and threatened fines or dismissal if they worked without his consent.
