41-year-old LA County sheriff's deputy Jonathan Stewart died from a methamphetamine overdose at the South L.A. station on April 27, classified as an accident by the Los Angeles County medical examiner. Stewart had been with the department since 2006 and served as a field training officer. His death is under further investigation, and he is survived by his wife and three children.
