Woman fakes kidnapping in Odisha, India, to extort Rs 1 crore from brother. Smruti Rekha Pani, a fashion designer from Bhubaneswar, collaborated with her boyfriend Pradeep Kumar Ola and his friend Devi Lal Ola to stage her own abduction. The police traced the GPS location of the accused and arrested them before they could receive the ransom. They were found in possession of multiple incriminating items.
