Utah DOT proposes "Desert Wind Corridor" train service connecting Boise, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas.
Utah Dept of Transportation (UDOT) has proposed a train service connecting Boise, Idaho to Las Vegas, Nevada, with a crucial stop in Salt Lake City. Dubbed "Desert Wind Corridor," the project aims to revolutionize regional travel, offering a scenic alternative to driving or flying. If approved, Boise could become a key transportation hub, with an estimated 7-9.5 hour travel time between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, similar to the former Amtrak service discontinued in 1997.
