30,000 UK women taking topiramate advised to consult GPs as MHRA links medication to increased risk of intellectual disability, autism, and ADHD in children during pregnancy.
30,000 UK women taking topiramate, a medication used for epilepsy and migraines, are advised to consult their GPs after a major safety review. The Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) recommends topiramate should not be prescribed during pregnancy unless there are no suitable alternatives.
